Young Screenwriters Festival 2010

Monday 12th July to Thursday 15th July

Broadway Cinema & Media Centre

What better way to round up a year of work than to have a festival! We will be generating so much content and working with so many young people that we will need the 4 days to fit everything in. We might even add a fifth day and just go for the whole week.

Plans are still being made but here’s what we know so far…

All of the films made during the project will be screened at the festival along side special screenings of book to film adaptations, workshops and special guest appearances.

On the Monday children’s author Alan Gibbons will be opening the festival and will see for the first time the films the young people have made using his book of short stories, Dark Spaces, as an influence.

We are absolutely delighted to be working with Belfast based organisation Cinemagic who run a international film and television festival for young people. Cinemagic will be helping us program films and running workshops on the Tuesday and Wednesday. You can find a link to their website on the ‘links’ section of this site.

If you have any ideas, requests or just general comments about the festival use the comments box below to let us know.
